Artist Statement

Through utilizations of artistic inspirations that I have learned from both western and abroad, I’ve cultivated a unique style filled with lively characters & environments. Medium inspirations include that of video games, cartoons, anime, and ‘webtoons’, online comic stories created by a variety of contemporary artists. Growing up, I wasn’t as exposed to the world of video games–and was made more intimately familiar with them in my adult life. This opened my eyes and broadened my horizons in ways I am incredibly grateful for. Things such as environmental design, world building–that may otherwise be treated as unimportant minutia in other projects from an artistic standpoint, are instead carefully handcrafted due to the format being completely interactive. As a result of this, players such as myself are able to find intricacies at our own pace, akin to appreciating a fine painting at a museum, or exploring a historic vestibule. I want to be a part of this creative process through my own forte, that being my creative and dynamic character designs. This way, I can aid in helping those who found inspiration through the format in similar ways to myself, do so as a result of me being within that creative process. My creative standard for executing this process revolves around traditional artwork I hand draw that is then digitized for usage in visual art programs, my personal favorite being Clip Studio Paint. I find myself drawn to music when within a creative spur, allowing ecliptic tunes to invigorate and inspire my creativity.
